William G. Clotworthy recently completed a
42-year career in the television broadcasting industry, culminating in a job
that most people don’t believe exists -- NBC network censor for Saturday
Night Live. After retirement, Mr. Clotworthy turned his attention
to identifying and describing sites commemorating American presidents. He is
currently the author of three books on the subject: Homes and Libraries of the
Presidents (third edition), a
guidebook to almost 100 presidential homes, libraries, and museums;
Presidential
Sites: A Directory of Places associated with Presidents of the United States, and
In the Footsteps of George Washington: A Guide to Places Commemorating the First
President. His current project, to be released in the future, is Homes
of the First Ladies, a
guidebook to sites associated with the sometimes influential and certainly
fascinating women who stood alongside the men who have led our nation through
two centuries to its preeminence in the world.
Mr. Clotworthy is available for talks illustrated with slides.
