Mary Ann Blochowiak
Mary Ann Blochowiak was born in Shawnee, OK, and earned a nursing diploma from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Oklahoma City, OK. She then earned degrees from the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmund (B.A., M.A., Southwestern Studies). She began working as assistant editor in the Publications Division of the Oklahoma Historical Society in 1988, and served as editor from late 1999 until her retirement in December 2005. She has authored the book “They Have Made Their Sacrifice: A History of the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry” in 2003, and has also authored numerous articles, essays and book reviews. She has worked with Dr. Schlup on several other book projects prior to the Arizona Historical Dictionary.
