Passionate about all things geographical, Joseph Kerski grew up on Colorado, drawing road maps that his family members traced over with a pencil “car.” Even after earning three degrees in Geography and working for twenty-five-years as a geographer, he never tires of telling folks what geography truly is—“the whys of where”—and the reasons why it is important to our present and future. When not at a latitude-longitude confluence or planning his next visit to one, he might be found traveling back and forth across bridges and highways in an effort to visit as many US counties as he can. He might also be found exploring a different sphere of the unknown—caves. Dr. Kerski spends most of his time teaching Geographic Information Systems, Geography, or Global Positioning Systems to students, scientists, the general public, government, private industry, tribal colleges, or anyone else who asks him.
