Jerry McDonald

Jerry McDonald - Publisher


Jerry McDonald, co-founder of McDonald & Woodward Publishing, is the publisher and president of the company, which was founded in December, 1986, with Susan L. Woodward, when they co-authored the book that launched the company, Indian Mounds of the Middle Ohio Valley.

Dr. McDonald is a geographer with degrees from Muskingum College (BA), the University of Texas (MA), and UCLA (PhD) whose special interests include the identification, interpretation, appreciation, and preservation of historical and cultural landscape features. Dr. McDonald reported research describing the 14,500-year-old Saltville, Virginia, pre-Clovis archeological site, one of the oldest archeological sites in the Western Hemisphere. Jerry relocated the company from Blacksburg, VA, to Granville, OH, in 1998, where he maintains an Ohio residency.

Trish Newcomb

Trish Newcomb - Marketing Manager


Marketing Manager, Trish Newcomb, joined McDonald & Woodward in November 2003. Trish’s prior marketing experience included managing the advertising sales operations for a weekly newspaper that she and her husband founded in central Maine in 1989. Along with several other successful marketing ventures, Trish’s expertise in creating the right marketing niche for M&W books has proven effective for the company. Trish manages the marketing program, which includes creating individual title marketing campaigns. She works closely with the authors to help promote their book with specific promotions and author activities. Trish also serves M&W as a member of the board of directors.

She lives in Granville, OH, with her husband Gary. She is active in the Granville Area Chamber of Commerce currently serving on the Board of Directors as Chair, and is a member and 2nd Vice President of the Licking County Business and Professional Women's Association. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren, who also live in Granville. In addition, Trish finds time for occasional sewing, gardening, and her part-time baking business--Granville Gourmet Whoopie Pies.
