For K-12 teachers, STEPS—Standard Themes for Educational Progress make the process of adapting Common Core Mathematics standards into their curriculum quick and easy.

Each STEPS manual has reorganized state-written learning objectives into teacher-friendly themes; therefore making adaptation faster and easier for the benefit of teachers, their students, and administrators.

Each manual was developed with feedback from teacher focus groups and content-area experts with the intent of creating a user-friendly, high-impact resource for improved instruction, differentiation, and professional development.

Since 2008, STEPS manuals have been active in Ohio using standards available in 2002 written for 13 grade levels. In 2009 STEPS manuals have been active in Illinois using standards available in 2002 written for 12 grade levels. Both state sets of manuals include manuals in four content areas (Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Language Arts). The most recent district feedback indicates improvement on standardized test scores!

Designed to hang like a calendar in any classroom or administrative office, each manual features text and tables that account for the number of objectives within each learning strand in the curriculum. This evidences previously unidentified gaps in the learning progression and offers great opportunities for improving student achievement.
