In Alphabetical Botanicals in Color, the author's rhyming verses describe each plant. In Alphabetical Butterflies in Color, Hohman illustrates and describes butterflies representing all 26 letters of the alphabet, and each butterfly's name is followed by its region of habitat and preferred botanical. For Alphabetical Beasts In Color, each animal's name and country of origin is listed. A listing on the inside back cover of each book identifies each animal/plant with the alphabetical letter it represents.
